The deadline to register
to vote or update a registration due to a change of address is Monday, April 7,
2008. The Elkhart County Voter Registration office is located
at the County Office Building, 117 N. Second St., Lower Level Rm. L4, in
Goshen. Office hours: Monday 8am-5pm, Tuesday thru
Friday 8am-4pm
When registering to vote
in person at the Voter Registration office, you must complete the form and
are not required to provide additional
documentation.
Mail-in registration
forms must be postmarked on or before Monday, April 7, 2008, to be
valid for the primary election. Registration forms are available at
various distribution sites including: License branches, County
Clerk's Offices, City Clerk's Offices, Libraries, Schools, State Offices,
and Federal
Offices.
New registration forms
submitted by mail must include:
1) A copy of a current and
valid photo ID; and 2) A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement,
government check, paycheck, or government document that shows the name and
residence address of the voter stated on the application; and 3) The applicant's
Indiana Driver's License Number; or the last four digits of the applicant's
Social Security Number.

Absentee ballot
applications for the primary election to vote by mail or traveling board
must be submitted to the Circuit Court Clerk's Office, 101 N. Main St.,
Rm. 204, Goshen, IN. 46526.
Monday, April 28, 2008,
is the deadline to receive an absentee ballot application to
vote by mail. The postmark date is not applicable for
absentee ballot applications - they must be received at the address listed
above by the deadline date.
Monday, May 5, 2008, by
12:00 noon, is the deadline to receive an absentee ballot
application to vote by traveling board.
Applications may be
hand-delivered, mailed, or faxed to 574.535.6471 and will not be accepted
at any other
location.
Absentee voting in person will begin on
Monday, April 7, 2008, at the following locations and
times:

Elkhart County Office
Building, 117 N. Second St., Rm. 108, Goshen, IN. 46526
Mondays from 9am to 5pm,
Tuesday thru Friday from 8am to 4pm
Saturday, April 26th, 8am to
3pm
Saturday, May 3rd, 8am to
3pm
Monday, May 5th, 8am to
12noon
